Media: Compliance Webcasts
With the passing of the Pension Protection Act of 2006, corporate financial officers and plan sponsors must take a hard look at how changes to plan funding requirements and accounting proposals will impact both plan-level and corporate financial statements. In this changing environment, liability-sensitive investing is emerging as an alternative to the asset-driven, total-return approaches used by most plans. In this webcast, Vanguard Principal and Director of Asset Allocation Paul Bosse, CFA, will address how new pension legislation impacts plan investment decisions and creates a need for new allocation approaches. Given the more punitive regulatory environment, Mr. Bosse will discuss the shift toward liabilities as a more accurate plan benchmark and why this new approach makes sense for most plans. Finally, he’ll provide a practical framework for developing a liability-sensitive investment solution.
