People who find the idea of a lifetime marriage commitment stifling will embrace a German politician's proposal for seven-year marriage terms. Twice-divorced Gabriele Pauli said that people would "enter marriages only on a time-limited basis, and would then actively say 'yes' to an extension." She thinks her plan would lower the number of divorces but admits that "the fine points must still be cleared up."
