While many US companies have prepared for the worst with written emergency plans, there continues to be no agreed upon standard for these strategies. According to The Conference Board, larger organizations are more likely to have implemented the most common standards, like the ISO 27001/17799 information security standard. In addition, almost 75 percent of enterprise-level companies conduct regular risk audits, mitigation, and activation of backup facilities. Despite company size, crisis communications procedures are included in 91 percent of emergency plans.
