The United States will remain the number one target for foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2008-09, but by 2014 China will push into the top spot, according to research from KPMG. The Big 4 firm surveyed more than 400 CFOs, chief investment officers and other senior executives to compile this overview of FDI trends, which documents the switch of fund flows away from the United States, Japan, Singapore, and some European countries and toward Brazil, Russia, India, and China.
